Nigeria: Fulani Terrorists Enjoy Freedom While Innocent Citizens Get Imprisoned
It is nauseating to most often be witnessing the shameful antecedents of the Nigerian leaders who seem to have completely lost grip on rationality and integrity. Nigeria is a country that cherishes putting law abiding citizens behind bars based on trumped up charges while at the same time, hobnobbing with deadly Fulani terrorists.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), very recently took to his twitter handle and Facebook, to pointedly tell the Nigerian government, the truth. He stated that if they can romance with the terrorists, then nobody is supposed to be in prison. He words: "If Miyetti Allah terror herdsmen and other murderous Fulani groups including Boko Haram insurgents can be arrested, freed and rehabilitated by this neo-colonial fulanised Nigerian government, then no single soul deserves to be in prison in Nigeria".
Recall that the Nigerian government through the contracted mediation of a Fulani Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi, had to negotiate with the Fulani bandits. These terrorists were heavily paid ransom in order to allow for the freedom of the abducted. The Boko Haram terrorists who have blatantly been perpetrating heinous crimes are being "rehabilitated" in the language of the government, placed on monthly salaries and eventually recruited into the Nigerian military and police.
The government has the temerity to yet lock up individuals who committed light offences. It should be known that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. This double standards have remained the plague eating up the Nigerian state due to nepotistic bias and hatred. A situation where Okeke is hunted down, arrested and persecuted, while Abubakar is being pampered, treated with respect and care for, clearly confirms deep rooted hypocrisy and tribalism that prevalant in the land. Nigeria is truly a country that thrives in self-destructive tendencies with no hope of survival. What a disgrace!
