Nnamdi Kanu Trial And The Absurdity Of The Nigerian Government On People's Rights

Nigeria as a country, is known for lawlessness. Today, Monday 26th July 2021, the eyes of the world is on this contraption,  pertaining the case of Biafra versus Nigeria. It is a case of extra-ordinary rendition of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Prior to this time, the Attorney General of Nigeria and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has stated that no IPOB member should be seen around the Abuja Federal High Court premises, as hearing commences. Knowing fully well that the current rulers of Nigeria do not know how to interprete their own law, the IPOB lawyer, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor explained, that it is the people's right clearly enshrined in the Nigerian consitution.

Today, the officials of the Nigerian security, especially that of the Department of Security Services (DSS), are doing their worst. They are stopping the media from performing their constitutional duties. Report from Abuja early this morning, has it that the DSS has blocked the entrance gate to the Federal High Court, Abuja.

According to an eyewitness, the heavily masked security personnel, totally blocked even the BBC reporters covering the court hearing from gaining access. The reporters were told not to cover anything in the court premises.

Also reported was that the armed security operatives threatened to shoot at the people who thronged the court premises in solidarity with the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

IPOB supporters have dared the Nigerian government to build more prison prison and mortuaries, knowing that the gun trigger loving DSS officials will always do what they are famously known for. But they must understsnd that Biafrans have come to stand in solidarity with Mazi Nnamdi kanu who has done nothing to warrant the Nigerian government, kidnapping him from Kenya against his will. If Nigeria were to be a country that respects and obeys the rule of law, the  goverment should be the one under trial for the crime of extra-ordinary rendition.
