The above plausible sentence amongst others, was made by the Head of Directorate of State(HDOS) of the Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB) in his landmark address to Biafrans on Saturday,15th April 2023. 

The HDOS, Mazi Chika Edoziem stated that as a non-violent self determination movement, IPOB was established by her supreme leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with the principles of a quasi millitary outfit in which discipline, command and control(C2) mechanism are the guiding rails towards achieving her core objective, which is the restoration of the Biafra nation.

Edoziem reiterated that the C2 mechanism has been the most sophisticated and potent asset deployed by the IPOB movement to defeat her armed-to-the-teeth detractors. Hence stressing the vital need for all adherents and faithfuls to subscribe wholesomely to the principle as stipulated by the IPOB code of conduct, or risk heavy consequences.

In contextual explanation of the military term, command and control(C2) simply refers to the exercise of authority and direction by a designated commander over assigned forces in the accomplishment of a mission. It involves the process of planning, directing,coordinating and controlling the military forces and their actions, including the deployment and utilization of resources such as personnel, equipment and logistics.

The concept of C2 has been used in military operations for centuries and it continues to evolve as modern millitary engagements advances. It is a critical aspect of military operations, as it ensures that the forces operate effectively and efficiently towards achieving their objectives.

The C2 mechanism are designed to provide a centralized command structure that enables commanders to have real-time situational awareness and coordinate the activities of their forces as well as making informed decisions. This system also allow for the rapid dissemination of orders and information across the command structure, which is crucial in ensuring that the forces can respond rapidly to changing situations.

The C2 mechanism have been proven to be of maximum importance in many historical military operations, such as the Normandy landings in World War II and the Gulf War in the 1990s and more. In these operations, effective command and control systems were critical in coordinating the activities of the forces and ensuring that the objectives were achieved.

Beyond the military, the concept of command and control has also been applied in other social spheres, such as emergency management and disaster response. In these contexts, C2 involves the coordination of resources and activities to respond to emergencies and mitigate the impact of raging disaster(s).

The command and control system has also helped IPOB to achieve its success by allowing the group to respond quickly to emerging circumstances and to reshuffle her tactics and strategies as required. For example, when the Nigerian government banned the group and declared it a terrorist organization, IPOB was able to quickly move her operations and activities to a more stealth and covert mode.

In summary, command and control system is a critical aspect of military operations and involves the exercise of authority and command over assigned forces. It is a complex process that requires effective planning, coordination and communication. And it plays a vital role in ensuring the success of the overall operations and emergency response efforts.

This is why the IPOB supreme leader and leadership have continued to seemly uphold this principle, because of its efficacy in exposing the presence and activities of fifth columnist and agent provocateurs who are clandestinely planted to wreck the movement and divert her attention.

Therefore, it is imperative that lovers of freedom and adherents hearken to this existing principle but if they can not do so, should honourably use the exit door and initiate their own concepts and set their pace and objectives.
