IPOB Denies Involvement In Attack On US Convoy In Anambra, Demands Independent Investigations By American Authority 

 

NDIGENOUS People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the reported attack on the United States Embassy convoy in Anambra State and demanded “US’ Intelligence unbiased investigation” into the matter.

 

In a statement issued by its spokesman Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB condoled the families of the victims and demanded that the masterminds and the sponsors be brought to book.

 

Decrying linking IPOB to the attack Powerful alleged that because of past repeated sponsored attacks on strangers in Biafra land, which the Nigeria Police, army, and the Department of State Services (DSS) have repeatedly blamed on IPOB, “we demand an independent investigation from USA intelligence on the US Embassy convoy attack in Anambra State.”

 

He added that the result of the investigation should be made public, reiterating that the separatist group has zero trust in the Nigerian government and her security agencies’ ability to conduct any unbiased investigation because they are likely the culprits.

 

He queried why the White House is yet to carry out any investigation when the Nigeria government, through its spokesperson Malam Garba Shehu, had concluded its investigation as usual by accusing IPOB, stating that the government did that because “we are their worst nightmare.”

 

According to IPOB: “America has one of the most sophisticated intelligence agencies in the world, and cannot be deceived by alamajiris in government at Abuja. We expect the US government to carry out an independent investigation into the attack.

 

“This recent attack on the US Embassy convoy is likely another state-sponsored attack to discredit the peaceful IPOB movement and to make South East more unsafe for investors to continue coming to Biafra to invest. Again, they are late because our call for investors has already started yielding fruits.”

 

He stated that those linking Peter Obi to these attacks on the US Embassy convoy are the ones that should be held to account.

 

“There is no way they can link innocent Peter Obi to it because he is from Anambra State. It is important to note that those accusing IPOB of being behind the attack on the US Embassy convoy are the real masterminds. Does that mean that all the attacks happening in Adamawa State and Katsina State were caused by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and Buhari in Aso Rock respectively?”
