 The Betrayal of Ohaneze Ndigbo: A Despicable Act of Treachery

Being an Ìgbo born who is deeply concerned about the welfare and dignity of my people, I am earnestly disappointed at the actions of Ohaneze Ndigbo, actions that can only be described as a betrayal of the highest order. Ohaneze Ndigbo, a leadership once seen as a beacon of hope and a defender of Igbo interests has stooped so low and poor in worth and reasoning that they now beg the Fulani Caliphate for forgiveness for crimes that were never committed by our people, because they have turned stooges. This is not just a betrayal of Ndigbo, but a betrayal of all who have in Nigeria and beyond, who have placed some value on the Igbo race.

The said act is a recent move by Ohaneze Ndigbo to apologize to the Fulani Caliphate for the alleged involvement of Igbo military officers in the 1966 coup. And it is nothing short of sacrilege. This act of appeasement and submission is not only shameful but also dangerous, as it portrays Ndigbo as aggressors rather than victims. By seeking forgiveness for a crime that Igbo people did not commit, Ohaneze Ndigbo has crossed a red line and has become complicit in the agenda of those who seek to undermine and subjugate the Igbo race.

It is important to remember the context in which the 1966 coup took place. It was a time of great turmoil and political instability in Nigeria, with various ethnic and religious groups vying for power. The coup, led by young military officers from all ethnic groups, including Igbo, was a response to the perceived injustices and inequalities in the country, particularly the forceful Islamization agenda of the Northern elite.

However, instead of being seen as a coup by young military officers from all ethnic groups, it was viciously tagged as an Igbo coup. This deliberate misrepresentation of facts has had far-reaching consequences for Ndigbo, as it has fueled hatred and discrimination against the race. But the most appalling thing about it is that Ohaneze Ndigbo would now seek to apologize for this so-called Igbo coup, effectively accepting guilt for a crime that was never committed by the Igbo people.

The actions of Ohaneze Ndigbo can only be described as the height of betrayal. Instead of standing up for the truth and defending the honor and dignity of Ndigbo, they have chosen to bow down to the demands of Igbo oppressors. This is a clear indication that Ohaneze Ndigbo no longer represents the interests of Ndigbo, but rather the interests of those who seek to keep Igbo oppressed and marginalized.

It is time for all men and women born by Igbo blood; the true sons and daughters of Ndigbo, to rise up and reject the treachery of Ohaneze Ndigbo. We must demand that they step down from their positions of leadership because they no longer have the mandate of the people. We must also send a clear message to the Fulani Caliphate and their collaborators that we will not be cowed or intimidated into submission.

As for Chief Iwuanyawu and his faction of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ndigbo should now tell them that their time has elapsed, that they have shown themselves to be nothing but puppets of the Fulani Caliphate, and they no longer have any place speaking for or representing Ndigbo. And this ought to be taken very seriously that if they dare go ahead with their planned visit to the Fulani Caliphate to apologize, they will have their consequences to face from the Igbo people. Already, the Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB) has vowed to declare them persona non grata, and they will be treated as criminals and traitors.

In conclusion, let us remember the sacrifices and bravery of Biafran Heroes and Heroines of Igbo extraction and other Biafra regions, who fought and died for the freedom and dignity of Biafra. Let us not allow their sacrifices to be made vain by traitors like Ohaneze Ndigbo who desires daily to sell Igbo race out to oppressors. Ndigbo must stand united and resolute in the quest for justice, freedom, and self-determination.
