ESN Has No Spokesperson, It Doesn't Issue Travel Advices — IPOB Official Clarifies 

Recently a certain news was circulation across the social networks, suggesting that a commander of the Eastern Security Network codenamed

"Katapilla" has allegedly issued a travel warning to unsuspecting members of the Biafran public as to areas, where not to travel to in Biafraland. Primarily in the Ihiala-Orlu axis. The report also stated how katapilla assured to "conduct" massive operation against elements responsible for insecurity in this particular area. 

To corroborate the authenticity of this information, Family Writers Press International contacted the IPOB Leadership ‐ who are the sole proprietary of the ESN and they not only denied that there is no commander within the ranks of the ESN operating under the Alias of "Katapilla", but also assured that this information did not emanate from the Eastern Security Network regardless of the command section operational in Biafraland. 

A senior official in the IPOB Directorate Of States whom we spoke to, assured that the false news in circulation is an intentional misinformation from the camp of the enemies whom are hellbent on demonizing and destroying the image of the IPOB movement and the ESN, creating doubts fear and confusion through dishing out false information and impersonating the Duo to commit crimes in Biafraland. 

We were confidently told by the IPOB senior official that the ESN does not operate as an independent body outside the framework of the IPOB movement and as such does not have a spokesperson. The ESN is a vigilante group formed to combat the Fulani terror herdsmen incursion into Biafra territory and as such, its operational methodology, tactics and conducts are commandeered and crafted by its sole proprietor - IPOB, which is still in essence a non-violent self determination seeking movement. 

What this implies in practical terms is that the ESN as an institution has no voice or even succinctly, a brain. As the IPOB movement, leadership efficienctly serves both purpose and functions on its behalf. This also implies that the ESN - operatives and commanders alike - have no business speaking to the members of the press or holding interviews with news personnels or journalists for any reason. 

Infact, we were told that no ESN operational commander except for the deceased "Ikonso" who was murdered by the Nigerian military 3 years ago in his home during sleep, has his/her identity in the public limelight. And this is not only because of their individual safety or to prevent organizational compromise/breach, but essentially as a result of the status of the Eastern Security Network as an earthling strictly under the directorship of the IPOB movement. 

Furthermore, we were told this does not only apply to the Eastern Security Network alone but also the M-Branch intelligence gathering unit and a whole host of other institutions functioning in various sections under the disciplinary guidance of the IPOB movement. 

The IPOB official stated that should there be any discovery made by either the ESN, M-Branch or other related institutions as the case maybe that requires a public notification. It would be disseminated by the IPOB movement itself through either press statements by the IPOB media and publicity secretary or on Radio Biafra. Alternatively senior officials verified social media handles could be used to immediately communicate such information for wider outreach. 

While the ESN maybe authorized to obtain video clip and evidence during their primary assignment and combat against Fulani terrorists in Biafra forest and bushes for reference purposes. Who, when and how it is published is determined by the IPOB Leadership not the ESN. 

Finally, the IPOB official asked the public especially Biafransto be mindful of their source of information especially as it concerns the IPOB movement and its Biafra self-determination quest. Stating that enemies of the struggle are on their toes working day and night to undermine the IPOB movement. And one of the most notable ways they has done so over the years are through misinformations, impersonation and blackmail against the IPOB movement. 

Nevertheless, he asked all Biafrans to remain resolute as the IPOB Leadership is exploring all possibilities irrespective of the challenges, towards the Biafra restoration goal and the Eastern Security Network will continue on its ordained task to ensure the entirety of Biafra territory are rid of Fulani terrorists incurring through the north all the way from the Sahel.
