The Nigerian Army Poorly Scripted Mind Game And Why Biafran Youths Obey IPOB

In what appears to be a  reply from the Nigerian Army to the press statement by the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, urging Biafrans to disregard enlisting in the Nigerian army recruitment exercise, has sent waves of discomfort to the hierarchies of the Nigerian Army.

The recent threats unleashed on IPOB by the Nigerian Army is the real news, not any commendation to Biafran Youths patriotism to Nigeria. That was simply a mind game. There is no such thing as ‘patriotism’ to Nigeria or her oppressive army known for intimidating, killing and disappearing Biafrans. The truth is that Nigeria is no longer viable and at the moment is doing damage control. IPOB as the only state actor that speaks for Biafrans (Eastern Nigeria) and they obey to the letter without any iota of doubt. IPOB means the Indigenous People of Biafra for the simple reason that she is the people and the people are inseparably IPOB. When the mother hen calls, the chicks answer. This simple analogy is that the relationship between IPOB and the people are well intact and guarded.

Therefore, Nigerian army should stop being funny as that depicts them as weaklings, unprofessional and paper tigers. The Nigerian army will gain respect if it sticks to going after terrorists ravaging the north rather than playing the game of poorly scripted media propaganda against IPOB in a medium that IPOB warriors sleep and wake up daily. It will be too easy for media warriors to call them out with quick succession of counter analysis showing how Nigerian army is simply oppressive and manipulative.

The Nigerian army is simply doing projection. To project is to accuse someone of something you are doing. If you have no child, you have no business telling a mother how to protect her child if a proposed new law is going to harm her child. This is exactly what Nigeria army is doing by projecting through one poster boy called Onyema Nwachukwu against IPOB.

Excerpts: "Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, reaffirmed the unwavering patriotism of Southeast youths, stating that they continue to fill their quotas in military, paramilitary, and civil service roles, despite IPOB’s threats. He emphasized that the ongoing registration for the 88th Regular Recruits Intake (RRI) has witnessed strong turnout from the region."

It suffices to state that the above excerpt from the Nigerian army's press statement is completely misleading and if not properly addressed, will continue to misinform the unsuspecting members of the public.

The first question to ask is, does Nigeria army show patriotism in the discharge of their duties?

Well, if patriotism is the military occupation of Biafraland (Eastern Nigeria), indiscriminate killing of Biafran youths, sponsoring of red flag operations, assisting Fulani criminals and kidnappers, etc., perhaps that is true. Do you now see how Nigeria army is projecting by being unpatriotic to Biafran youths and then turn around to threaten IPOB for exposing their unpatriotism?

The truth is the truth. Attack it all you want, it will still stand. The truth is that Nigeria is not for Biafrans. Any Biafran that will be recruited into Nigerian army will be a sacrificial lamb on the alter of insecurity. You will be killed fighting Boko Haram. While you're poorly equipped while your superiors feed fat from the embezzlement of budgeted funds. This is the truth. It is also true that Nigerian army has sexual harassment problem for women as well as men as many of the Fulani officers are also homosexuals. Women are raped mercilessly and forced to take abortion pills. Also, soldiers from Eastern extraction are subjected to sexual abuse to get promoted. There is no punishment for offenders or relief to victims as they are left to go through horrible psychological and emotional breakdown. This is an open secret. It is that bad!

Finally, a good question to ask is: why would Biafrans listen to IPOB and refuse to be recruited into Commonwealth Army only to turn around and accept a moribund and uninspiring Nigerian army?

With the plethora number of cases of high-handedness of the Nigerian army in the Eastern region, the roadside extortions of road users, militarization of Southeast, enabling Fulani herdsmen terrorists, and other extrajudicial activities perpetrated by the personnel of the Nigerian army, what more integrity or patriotism does the Nigerian army have to urge Biafran Youths to join the  enemy Nigerian army? That is suicide.
