DISTURBING: Catastrophic Bomb Explosions Wrecking Orlu Zone Imo State
Information emanating from Imo State portends that a new dimension of the insecurity bedevilling the state is taking a very chaotic turn. In just this week alone, three different bomb explosions targeting Orlu international market, old market respectively has claimed the lives of 5 people including a child, injuring many others according to on-ground source who spoke to Family Writers Press International yesterday.
For the past years, Imo State has been the springboard from whence insecurity in the South-East launches and widely escalates from. Heralded by the illegal imposition of Hope Uzodimma by the powers that be through the machination of the Nigerian judiciary. Criminal elements from all corners have swarmed into the state to perpetrate crimes most of which are covered and immediately attributed to Biafra agitation. When that is far from the case. This is in no way trying to insinuate that there are no fifth columnists whom are committing crimes under the cloak of Biafra agitation.
However, other known criminal elements such Ebubeagu militia, drug cartel syndicates, Private military contractors (PMCs) - most notably under the command of Asari Dukubo and other unnamed partisan political affiliated thugs used to achieve illicit political goals are very much operational in the state contributing gravely to the security deterioration in the state.
Why this recent development in the insecurity of non-conventional bomb attacks in Imo State - although this is not new, the Nigerian military has been involved in the project of indiscriminate bomb droppings under the pretext of fighting their pseudo agent provocateurs position in Imo State and environs. Nonetheless, all hands must be on deck to investigate the core of this new underlying issue, to identify and pinpoint the factor behind it and the motive spurring such.
It is a thing of utmost concern and uncanny coincidence, that at the time when the collective call for the economic rejuvenation of the Eastern economy is gaining momentum. These indiscriminate bomb attacks are being recorded precisely in and around market places and institutions. Giving the fact that the advocacy for Ndigbo outside the region to relocate their businesses home is yielding positive results
Ndigbo must rise up and collectively resist sabotage of this people-driven agenda for development by either any foreign agency of sorts using local willing tools or their own boots on the ground. The South-East political leadership must abandon partisan bickering, vendetta amongst themselves and address these issues collectively. And cooperate with the IPOB movement where necessary especially in robust intelligence gathering to ensure that this very ugly development is contained and obliterated.
There should be no panic as that is exactly what the unseen forces behind the scenes wants - to scare our people away from their ancestral homes, so they would exploit unchecked the resources therein. Instead, there should be a concerted effort to ensure that every factor, technique that would yield to the total restoration of peace and security in the South-East is exploited to the fullest. The most important factor in this regard, is the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Ndigbo must shield away every political indifference and collectively call for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditional release, his freedom has a key role to play in the restoration of peace and security especially with those committing crimes in his name under the guise that they are fighting for his release. Although, he has denounced their activities which are being committed against the same Biafrans, whom he is undergoing incarceration for their sake. And has warned the criminals to desist from these nefarious acts.
However, his unconditional release will go a long way in addressing this issue. Hence, all and sundry must prevail on the federal government to release him.
