IPOB Leadership Announces The Discreet Burial Of Assassinated Biafraland National Coordinator

The Head of the IPOB Directorate Of States, Mazi Chika Edoziem has announced on the movement’s official X handle (@real_ipobDOS) the burial of the recently assassinated homeland national coordinator, Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha. However, the statement assured that a date for a unanimous mourning ceremony would be communicated to the IPOB families around the world as well as sympathizers.

"The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra wish to announce the successful interment of Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha", "The IPOB Biafraland National Coordinator who was assassinated by enemies of our people and of our freedom". "A date for a candle light vigil for him will be announced later." 

Recall that on 20th October 2024, Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha who was the IPOB Biafraland National Coordinator was assassinated reportedly by 8 armed men, who brutalized him in the presence of his daughter before eventually ending his life. 

Mazi Chinasa Nworu, a member of the IPOB Directorate Of States while commenting on the sad incident during a radio Biafra broadcast said that upon receiving SOS distress signal about the attack on the IPOB principal officer, personells of the Eastern Security Network, IPOB volunteers were mobilized for a rescue operation. Unfortunately, before arrival of the contingents at the scene he was unfortunately murdered. 

However, they prevented the hoodlums from taking away his lifeless body with them. According to report and account from the mobilized operatives. The assailants intended to take his body away but were forced to run off as the ESN operatives were sharply closing in on them. 

Nevertheless, the IPOB movement in a public statement issued by its media and publicity secretary Emma Powerful in response to the tragic incident described and identified the assailants after preliminary investigations/results from the IPOB intelligence Corps (M-Branch) as agents provocateurs of the Nigerian government. 

The statement went on to assess that the federal government actions was to divert the trajectory of the IPOB peaceful movement through provocations. But, the  IPOB movement would not be drawn into rash actions through provocations. Although, the statement vowed that the IPOB movement will launch a surgical/precise revenge operation against those assailants who murdered its principal officer in cold blood.

"The Nigerian Government and her sponsored agents of provocateurs want to set a stage that IPOB will change the direction of this peaceful struggle. However, IPOB do not follow the pace set by our enemies we won't kill Biafrans. Having realized that Biafra restoration project is on the unstoppable mode they want to start killing Igbo people but IPOB won't do that." 

"The Nigerian Government and her murderous Security Forces together with their recruited criminals are at loose to destroy or change IPOB direction. But we shall do everything humanly possible to defend ourselves including going after those paid to kill IPOB and to destroy our family members."

"Biafrans be assured that the assassination of Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha will be avenged properly. Those who traumatized the family of Mazi Ugwuoha by slaughtering him before his family member will be fished out and given similar treatment.  IPOB's non-violence approach doesn't negate the act of self defense." the statement read in part.
