The Only Shield Of Northern's Resources Bequest From The Plundering French And President Tinubu, Is Self-determination
As the saying goes, "when two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers." This proverb couldn't be more apt in describing the situation in Northern Nigeria, where the region's resources are being set to be plundered by foreign powers, prevalently the French. However, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon, and that hope is self-determination by the Indigenous People Of Arewa.
It is a very sad reality, that many indigenous Northerners are unaware that President Tinubu’s foreign policies in the North is leading the horse to the
slaughterhouse. The North especially the masses, unaware of the impending doom, is being led down a path of destruction, like a lamb to the slaughter, and the Northern leaders with the exception of few are doing absolutely nothing about it.
Why is the average Zamfara Indigene poor, and unable to afford basic needs when the state is Infact, endowed with;
Iron Ore - a primary source of world’s Iron and Steel industries, making billions of dollars weekly.
Gold - that made up primarily, the global jewelry market size, valued at USD 353.26 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.7% from 2024 to 2030.
Chromate - that has improved the global paint adherence on non-ferrous surface, market size valued at around USD 544.1 million in 2022 and is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 4.6% between 2023 and 2032.
How many Indigenous people in Borno State can boast of employment in a well paying building material factory, whereas the state has in its abundance;
Gypsum- widely used to manufacture wallboards that are used to cover walls and ceilings.
Diatomite - used for the filtration of liquids or as a filler, for example, in paints.
Sizing a good market value, that provides comfortable housing across the globe.
Are they aware of the abundance of Limestone in the same state?
Core substance for a global production of majorly, cements.
Tourmaline, Aqua Marine, Asbestos, Clay, Flosper, Gemstone, Gold, Graphite, Kaolin, Kyanite, Mica, Rock Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Sihnite, Superntinite, Tentalime, Topaz & Amethyst, are all found lying and plundered in Kaduna State, yielding nothing to the indigenous population, but billions to the invading European colonisers, spare headed by President Bola Tinubu.
Why did President Tinubu sign a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) treaty on critical minerals with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, to mine the Copper in Nasarawa, Bauchi, Zamfara, Niger and the Federal Capital Territory?
Lithium, Nickel and Cobalt in Nasarawa, Plateau And Kogi States.
Whereas, sister nations, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger Republic and Chad had expelled the French from their territories, citing grave imperial emasculation of the colonisers, and their inconsiderate weight of plundering of resources, with no remunerative measures.
President Tinubu’s strategic decision of replacing key Northern Executives from the Federal positions, with the Yorubas shows that the Yoruba are a far better to be kept away from any regions’ political interests, because monumentally, they will take over your life, and subvert your interests to what benefits them the most.
They make better deals with the colonial powers, conceal the truth using their vast media powers, and make you worthless, whereas, your land sniffs of opulence.
They may look weak in the eyes, but are strong at heart. They played a successful psychological game on the North. And the people are doing nothing about it.
Nigeria was created out of the interests of the colonisers, and not the people living in it.
The people in Nigeria are collateral damage of the colonial construct called Nigeria.
The brouhaha over the Value Added Tax (VAT) in the recently proposed Tax Reform Bills by the Tinubu’s administration is a crux of Yoruba first agenda. VAT is an extra fee paid whenever one buys an item, a small slice added to the price that goes to the government to fund public services. And clearly, it is of the utmost detriment of the indigenous peoples, as the Arewa leaders have voiced their concerns over this.
The indigenous people have been sleeping on the wheels of oppression for far too long, their voices muffled by the gag of marginalization. Their silence has been deafening, a thunderous quietude that has allowed the forces of oppression to rain down terror upon them.
But the winds of change are blowing, and the people are beginning to stir from their slumber. They are starting to find their voice, to shout from the rooftops and demand their rights. The floodgates of resistance are opening, and the people are rising up like a phoenix from the ashes.
The question is, when will the people especially in the north take the bull by its horns and seize control of their destiny? When will they break free from the shackles of oppression and forge their own path? The answer, like a beacon in the darkness, is waiting to be discovered.
The people must arise and take their rightful place at the table of destiny. They must shake off the dust of oppression and march forward with purpose and determination. The time for silence is over; the time for action has begun. The people must seize the day and forge a new future, one that is built on the principles of justice, equality, and freedom.
